Elizabeth Unknown

Elizabeth is buried in Belchford churchyard. Grave inscription is "Elizabeth Borman who bid adieu to Time 27th day of Jan 1839 aged 87 yrs, A sinner saved by sovereign grace" It is also one of the few stones in the graveyard that has a substantial rhyming epitaph: She ranges on the heavenly plains, And sings with meek heart melting strains, And now her soul begins to prove, The heights and depths of Jesus love. He cheers with an eternal smile, She sings Hosannas all the while, Or overwhelmed with rapture sweet, Sinks down adoring at His feet. An entry in the village workhouse poor law administration shows "Pade to Mrs Borman for nursing Thos. Holmes wife 4s 0d". An entry in a book on the village mentions Elizabeth as "died in 1839 aged 81 yrs." but is says 87 yrs on the gravestone
